Team Lead

8 months
Contribution:
System & Product design
Platform:
Web app (with local DB)
In my 3rd year Information Systems module at university, I led a project team to build a system for the AUHF aimed to address communication, payment tracking, and poor data management.
We followed a structured development process, researching, defining needs/requirements, pitching, prototyping, and building with Adobe XD, .NET Core, and Visual Studio.
The solution we developed, Afrihost, is a web app with a locally hosted database designed to specifically address the key challenges we identified. By automating processes like payments, membership approvals, and event organisation, Afrihost streamlined communication and account management for AUHF staff and members. The platform also addressed a significant hidden loss in unclaimed membership fees due to poor record-keeping.
The AUHF admin team was impressed by our final proposal and went on to implement a more robust system built using the foundation and insights provided by our Afrihost platform.
